  • Juan Di Salvo Awarded 2nd Place at ASA/CSSA 2018 Meeting
    Juan Di Salvo, IPSS graduate student in Plant and Soil Sciences, won second place in the 'Semi-arid Dryland Cropping Systems' community poster competition at the 2018 ASA/CSSA meeting. The title of his poster was "Differences in Corn Yield Productivity and Stability by Hybrid Maturity."

  • First Place Award for Saadi Shahadha at 2018 ASA/CSSA Meeting
    Saadi Shahadha, IPSS graduate student in soil physics, recently won first place in the ‘Examples of Model Application in Field Research’ community graduate student poster competition at the 2018 ASA/CSSA meeting. Saadi received a certificate and a cash award for his poster “Nitrogen Management Effects on Soil Water Dynamics and Wheat Evapotranspiration”.

  • Kentucky Soil Atlas Released

    Retired Professor Anastasios  D. Karathanasis led a team of soil scientists to produce the recently released  "Kentucky Soil Atlas."  From the preface, "This Soil Atlas has been prepared as an aid to further the knowledge of soils in our state and provide a basic exposure of Kentucky’s soil resources to educators, students, natural resource planners, policy makers, citizens and visitors.

    UK, stakeholders break ground on Grain and Forage Center of Excellence

    University of Kentucky researchers have a long, storied history of working with farmers and stakeholders to make the state’s agricultural community world leaders in innovation and adaption. Today, they joined together to break ground on the Grain and Forage Center of Excellence, a facility that will allow them to continue this rich tradition.
